74% of leaders believe their companies will fail without fundamental transformation in the next decade
That statistic hit me hard 😓
It’s not about incremental change anymore; it's about survival & thriving in a market defined by uncertainty
Research from Russell Reynolds Associates, based on a survey of over 1,000 executives, reveals a critical truth: The leaders of the next decade won't just be good at managing change; they will be transformational
But here's the catch: success is elusive
Less than 1 in 3 executives report their transformation efforts have been successful
Why? Organizational inertia kills transformations:
1. Insight Inertia: A lack of awareness or acceptance of the need for change
2. Psychological Inertia: The strong, human drive to revert to the status quo, even when faced with a clear case for change
3. Action Inertia: Issues with accountability, organizational routines, & resource allocation that delay or prevent necessary actions
Transformations are an intellectual & emotionally challenging journey. They require leaders to overcome inertia & build transformation into the very character of the organization
To achieve this, CEOs need to focus on four key pillars:
1. Build the top team for transformation: Balance insiders with institutional knowledge & outsiders with fresh perspectives
2. Develop the team through the transformation: Focus on breaking down existing mental models, embracing failure, & building emotional courage
3. Orchestrate the team for maximum impact: Create a common purpose, align incentives to enterprise outcomes, & foster a culture of debate & accountability
4. Tap into the capacity of next-gen leaders: Expand the "transformation leadership team" to include influential, high-performing individuals at multiple levels
📣 Did you know that targeted coaching can be most effective to maximise leadership impact and transform the organisation for the better? But don't take my word for it. Take it from a newly appointed Regional Vice President of a technology company:
💬 “Having had mentors and working with various leaders in the past, I can confidently say that executive coaching with Navid is a completely different experience. It offers unique perspectives that I truly enjoyed. Navid's coaching has been highly insightful and instrumental in helping me to elevate myself to the next level in my career. I genuinely appreciated Navid from two angles: his deep knowledge of executive transitions and his embodied experience of what it takes to succeed in an international corporation. This year-long engagement has been incredibly rewarding, and I am grateful for the insights and growth I've achieved. I have no hesitation in highly recommending Navid to other executives looking for a transformative coaching experience.”
